What this site is not
Nothing on this site constitutes individualized medical or dental advice. Patient situations vary enormously — anatomy, bone quality, systemic health, parafunction, aesthetic goals — and the only person qualified to recommend a treatment plan for you is a licensed dental professional who has examined you in person.
How we write
Every guide is written to summarize and synthesize the best available evidence, drawing primarily on guidance from the American Dental Association (ADA), the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), the International Team for Implantology (ITI), the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO), the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), Cochrane systematic reviews, and peer-reviewed journals indexed in PubMed.
How we review
Before publication, every educational guide is reviewed for clinical accuracy by a licensed dental professional. Reviewers are listed by name on each guide along with the date of last review. Our full process is described in our Medical Review Policy and Editorial Policy.
Funding and independence
Dental Education Guide is independently operated. We do not run display advertising, we do not accept paid placements, and no clinician, clinic, or manufacturer can pay to be mentioned, recommended against, or favorably described. If this ever changes, we will disclose it prominently on every page where it applies.
