Patient journey

The full patient journey, step by step

From the moment you first wonder “is this for me?” through twenty years of maintenance.

  1. 01

    Research & education

You read, you ask questions, you understand the procedure, alternatives, and risks before you ever sit in a chair. This site exists for this stage.

  2. 02

    Initial consultation

Comprehensive exam, photographs, scan or impressions, periodontal evaluation, occlusal analysis, medical history review. Often includes CBCT.

  3. 03

    Diagnosis & treatment planning

The clinician synthesizes findings into a written plan with alternatives, sequence, materials, fees, and realistic outcomes.

  4. 04

Second opinion (recommended for major cases)

For full-arch or extensive cosmetic work, a second opinion is high-leverage and low-cost relative to the treatment itself.

  5. 05

    Mock-up & informed consent

For cosmetic and full-mouth work, a wax-up or digital mock-up lets you preview the final result before any irreversible step. Informed consent is reviewed in writing.

  6. 06

    Pre-treatment optimization

Smoking cessation, glycemic control, gum disease treatment, occlusal/nightguard if needed. The week before surgery matters more than most patients realize.

  7. 07

    Procedure

Implant surgery, veneer prep, or full-arch placement under appropriate anesthesia. Implant brand, model, lot, and torque values recorded.

  8. 08

    Early recovery

First 72 hours: medication schedule, soft diet, ice, no straws/smoking/vigorous rinsing. Suture check at 1 – 2 weeks.

  9. 09

    Healing phase

Osseointegration for implants (8 – 16 weeks). Lab fabrication for veneers (1 – 3 weeks). Provisional restorations as needed.

  10. 10

    Final restoration delivery

Try-ins, occlusal adjustments, final cementation or screw retention, photographs, instructions for home care.

  11. 11

    Short-term follow-up

1 – 2 week and 1 – 3 month checks. Adjust occlusion, refine esthetics if needed.

  12. 12

    Long-term maintenance

Hygiene every 3 – 6 months, annual peri-implant evaluation, periodic radiographs, nightguard maintenance, occlusal check on cosmetic work.
